Ex Wolf Block Partner Sues Firm for Severance
A former partner with Philadelphia-based Wolf Block has filed suit against the now-defunct firm over its failure to make severance payments to him. Michael A. Budin was an attorney at Wolf Block for 27 years – in 2003, when he was 59, the firm told Budin that it wanted to switch him from full equity partner to fixed-income partner. A few weeks later, he was asked to leave the firm completely.
Budin signed a separation agreement with the firm in May 2003 in which the firm agreed to pay Budin 15 annual severance payments totaling $400,000 in exchange for his withdrawal…
