Federal Court Slams Attorneys for Bad Faith, Misrepresenting the Law

A judge on the US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia has slapped some Atlanta lawyers and their former client with sanctions of more than $300,000 to cover the attorney fees, costs, and expenses of the opposing party. The court’s 49-page order charges that attorneys Cary Ichter and Guy Weiss, the law firm of Adorno & Yoss, and their former client, North Carolina-based Costa & Grissom Machinery Co., “blatantly misrepresented” the law and acted with “dishonesty” and “bad faith.” The Court said that Ichter in particular “violated the integrity of the judicial system.”
