William Lobel did not want to end his practice of law when he was faced with mandatory retirement from Irell & Manella LLP in Newport Beach, California in 2008.
He did not grieve, nor became bitter when his big-firm days ended. Rather, he took it as an opportunity to go into a boutique setting.
