Ohio Supreme Court Suspends Lawyer for Billing Local Courts More Than 24 Hours in a Day

The Ohio State Supreme Court (“Court”) has suspended lawyer Kristin Ann Stahlbush of Toledo from the practice of law for two years, with the second year of that term stayed on conditions, for repeatedly overbilling the Lucas County juvenile and common pleas courts for her services as court-appointed counsel representing low-income clients.

The sanctions arose from a complaint filed in August 2008 by the Toledo Bar Association, charging Stahlbush with violations of the Code of Professional Responsibility and the Ohio Rules of Professional Conduct for inflating the billable hours for work she performed as a court-appointed attorney in the juvenile and…
