Amendments in Copyright Registration Fees
RM 2007-6, 37 CFR Part 201 and 212, 6/19/2007
Amendments to copyright registration fees were undertaken by the Copyright Office of the Library of Congress. Assuming that no legislative action on this matter will be implemented by July 1, 2007, these amendments took effect on July 1, 2007.
This final rule imposed a “lower basic registration fee” of $35.00 for copyright claims that are filed through electronic means. This new fee is imposed on all registrations where the application is done electronically, as well as on all registration applications where the deposit materials can not be submitted along with the application itself.
