Amendments to Federal Securities Laws Referred to Senate Committee
Securities Law Technical Corrections Act of 2007

Basic Information
Rep. Peter J. Roskam (IL-6) introduced on the congressional floor this bill that seeks to provide various technical and clerical amendments to the following statutes: (1) the Securities Act of 1933; (2) the Securities Exchange Act of 1934; (3) the Trust Indenture Act of 1939; (4) the Investment Company Act of 1940; and (5) the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.
This proposed legislation likewise seeks to amend the following statutes to make conforming amendments for the repeal of the Public Utility Holding Company Act of 1935: (1) the Securities Exchange Act of 1934; (2) the Trust Indenture Act of 1939; (3) the Investment Company Act of 1940; and (4) the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.
There are 3 versions of Bill Number H.R.3505 for the 110th Congress, to wit: (1) Securities Law Technical Corrections Act of 2007 (Introduced in House)(H.R.3505.IH); (2) Securities Law Technical Corrections Act of 2007 (Engrossed as Agreed to or Passed by the House)(H.R.3505.EH); and the (3) Securities Law Technical Corrections Act of 2007 (Referred to Senate Committee after being Received from House)(H.R.3505.RFS).
On December 6, 2007, on motion to suspend the rules and pass the bill, the House passed the proposed legislation on a vote of 404 yeas and 0 nays. On December 7, 2007, the Senate received the referred bill from the House. The proposed legislation was read twice and then referred to the Senate Committee on Banking, and Urban Affairs, where it is now pending.
