Final Rule on Statutory Minimum Fees to be Paid by Commercial Webcasters under Sections 112(e) and 114 of Copyright Act

The Copyright Royalty Judges (“Judges”) have published final regulations governing the statutory minimum fees to be paid by commercial webcasters under sections 112(e) and 114 of the Copyright Act. The regulations permit certain digital performances of sound recordings and the making of ephemeral recordings from January 1, 2006, through December 31, 2010. The regulations will take effect on March 10, 2010.
