Senate Receives Bill Against Faulty Financial Reporting After Its Bipartisan Approval in House
Promoting Transparency in Financial Reporting Act of 2009

The U.S. Senate has received a bipartisan House legislation that seeks to protect taxpayers and investors from faulty financial reporting and make the disclosure process more efficient for small business owners.
The House of Representatives has earlier voted to unanimously approve H.R. 2664, otherwise known as “Promoting Transparency in Financial Reporting Act,” a bill that would require relevant federal agencies to provide Congress with an annual update on efforts being undertaken to simplify and improve the financial disclosure process. Rep. Christopher J. Lee ((R-New York) introduced the measure on June 2, 2009.
