Texas House and Senate Approve Bill Providing More Incentives for Film, TV, and Video Game Producers

An Act relating to incentives for the film, television, video, and digital interactive media production industries

In a 27 to 1 vote, the Texas Senate has approved a legislation that seeks to attract more movie, television, film, and digital interactive media production to the state of Texas through the grant of more incentives.

The bill (H.B. 873) bears the title “An Act relating to incentives for the film, television, video, and digital interactive media production industries,” and was first filed in the House on January 29, 2009. The House passed the measure on March 26, 2009 by a vote of 139 to 6. The Senate approved the bill on April 17, 2009.
